This morning, hear Jesus speak to us: "I'll help you." "It's a small thing for me, your God, to help you. Think about what I've already done. Didn't I buy you with my blood? I've died for you; if I've done the greater, won't I do the lesser? Helping you is the least thing I can do; I've done more and will do more. Before the world began, I chose you. I made the covenant for you.
I put aside my glory and became a man for you. I gave my life for you. If I did all this, I'll surely help you now. In helping you, I'm giving you what I've already bought for you. If you needed a thousand times more help, I'd give it. You need little compared to what I'm ready to give. It's much for you to need, but it's nothing for me to give.
Fear not! If an ant asked for help at your granary, giving it a handful of wheat wouldn't ruin you. You're just a tiny creature at the door of my all-sufficiency. I'll help you." Is this enough for your heart?
Do you need more strength than the Trinity can give? More wisdom than the Father, more love than the Son, more power than the Spirit? Bring your empty pitcher. This well will fill it.
Gather your needs, your woes, and bring them here. God's river is full for your supply. What more can you desire? Go forth in this might. The Eternal God is your helper! "Fear not, I'm with you, oh, be not dismayed! I'm your God, and will still give you aid."
Closing Prayer
Father, as the morning light breaks, anchor our hope in Your unchanging promises. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
