April 20

God's chosen are still fighting on earth, with Jesus Christ leading their salvation. He promised, "See! I'm with you always, even to the end of the world." Listen to the sounds of battle. God's people must stay strong and not be discouraged.

Here in England, the battle seems against us. If the Lord Jesus doesn't intervene, we worry for the church's future in our land. But take courage. Now is the time for strength. Protestantism appears fragile as efforts emerge to restore the old order. We need bold voices to proclaim the gospel for which martyrs and confessors gave their lives.

Jesus is with us through His Spirit. This brings us hope. He's present in the fight, ensuring the battle's outcome isn't uncertain. As the struggle continues, remember that Jesus intercedes for us. Don't focus only on the turmoil below, where confusion reigns. Instead, look up to where Christ pleads on our behalf. While He intercedes, the cause of God remains secure. Fight as if everything depends on you, but know that it all depends on Him. By the purity of our faith and the sacrifice of our Savior, by everything dear to the followers of Jesus, stand firm in truth and righteousness for God's kingdom. Move forward, "for the battle isn't yours but God's."

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day closes, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
