May 11

It's good to know there's One who's always the same and always with us. There's a stable rock in our life's stormy seas. Don't let your heart cling to rusting, moth-eaten, or decaying treasures. Instead, anchor your heart to Him who is forever faithful. Don't build your life on the shifting sands of a deceitful world. Place your hopes on this rock, which stands firm amidst the rain and floods.

My heart, treasure what's secure. Store your jewels where they can't be lost. Put everything in Christ: all your love in Him, all your hope in His merit, all your trust in His blood, all your joy in His presence. Then you can face loss and destruction with confidence. Remember, all the world's flowers will fade, and eventually, nothing will remain but the cold earth. Death will soon extinguish your light.

How sweet it is to have Christ's light when everything else fades! The dark waters of death will soon separate you from everything you know. Connect your heart to Him who will never leave you. Trust Him who will walk with you through death's darkness and bring you safely to the heavenly shore, where you'll sit with Him forever. Trust in the Friend who stays closer than a brother. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His promise, "I'm with you always," is enough for my soul to live on, no matter who may forsake me.

Closing Prayer

Father, as the day begins, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
