Such few words beautifully capture the essence of our Lord Jesus Christ. The phrase "He went about doing good" truly reflects Jesus in the fullest sense. It's clear Jesus acted personally to do good. The gospels show us how He touched the leper, anointed the blind, and often visited the sick Himself rather than healing them from afar. This teaches us to personally engage in acts of kindness, giving directly and speaking soulfully to others.
Jesus' way of doing good shows His tireless activity. He didn't just do good when it was convenient. Throughout Judea, nearly every village saw His merciful presence. How this challenges our sometimes slow and passive service to the Lord.
Let's be diligent and not grow weary in doing good. Jesus went out of His way to help others, never held back by danger or difficulty. We should be willing to do the same, trying new methods when old ones don't work, always following His example of perseverance and purpose.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, thank You for meeting us with grace right where we are. We long to follow Your example. Amen.
