It’s crucial to confidently say, "You whom my soul loves," about the Lord Jesus. Many only hope or trust they love Him, but we shouldn't settle there. This is too important. Don't rest until you're sure of such a vital matter. We shouldn't be content with just hoping Jesus loves us or merely trusting that we love Him. Early believers spoke clearly and confidently.
Paul and Job declared their faith boldly: "I know whom I've believed," and "I know that my Redeemer lives." Make sure your love for Jesus is real, confirmed by the Holy Spirit's witness and His seal upon your soul by faith. True love for Christ always comes from the Holy Spirit's work in our hearts.
We love Jesus because He first loved us and gave Himself for us. We have life through His death and peace through His blood. Though rich, He became poor for our sake. We love Jesus for His personal excellence. We're captivated by His beauty and perfection. His greatness and goodness, combined, enchant the soul until we declare, "Yes, He is altogether lovely." This blessed love binds our hearts with bonds stronger than silk yet firmer than iron.
Closing Prayer
Father, as the day begins, help us to trust You completely, even when the path is unclear. For Your glory, Amen.
