What God has done once, He will do again. Human actions often change, but God's ways are everlasting. This comforting truth holds because His ways come from wise deliberation. God orders everything according to His own will. Human actions might be driven by passion or fear, leading to regret and change, but nothing takes God by surprise. His character never changes, so His actions remain the same.
God's ways reflect His unchanging attributes. If God is eternally just, gracious, faithful, wise, and tender, then His actions will always show these traits. Beings act according to their nature. If their nature changes, so does their behavior. But God doesn't change, so His ways stay constant.
Nothing external can change God's actions because they show His mighty power. The prophet says the earth splits with rivers, mountains tremble, the deep raises its hands, and the sun and moon stand still when God moves to save His people. Who can stop Him or question His actions? Yet it's not just His might that makes His ways stable; they are grounded in eternal principles of right, which never fade. Wrong breeds decay, but truth and goodness endure forever. This morning, let's confidently approach our Heavenly Father, knowing that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He is always gracious to His people.
Closing Prayer
Father, help us trust You fully each morning, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
